Central Jakarta Forkopimko Collaborates to Secure Eid al-Adha Celebration

We take a heart-to-heart approach, encouraging all parties not to hold joint activities during Eid al-Adha celebration

The Central Jakarta City Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimko), held a coordination meeting about securing the implementation of the Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri celebration, which falls on Tuesday (7/10) tomorrow.

According to Dhany Sukma, Mayor of Central Jakarta, along with Forkopimko and three pillars, he was optimistic to building togetherness and awareness against the spread of Covid-19.

"Some action must be taken. The 3M and 5M protocols are absolutely applied as a form of endeavor in addition to praying," he said, on Monday (7/19).

He also advised the residents to conduct Eid prayers at home in a bid to strengthen relations between families during the pandemic.

"Don't celebrate takbiran (the eve of Eid al-Adha) by driving around the city," he stressed.

He explained, the slaughter of sacrificial animals in Central Jakarta would be conducted at the slaughterhouse (RPH). If it didn't meet the quota, it was done in a large area under strict health protocols.

Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chief, Comr. Hengki Haryadi added, together with army, public and religious figures, preventive measures would be done by educating and urging the public to comply with applicable regulations.

"We take a heart-to-heart approach, encouraging all parties not to hold joint activities during Eid al-Adha celebration," he explained.

Central Jakarta DMI Chairman, Ustadz Syahwaludin was optimistic that all mosque and musala caretakers understood the decision from the results of the Forkopimko coordination meeting to comply with the appropriate rules in accordance with the Religion Ministry Circular Letter and Governor Decree.

"It must be obeyed for the common good. InsyaAllah, we have also explained it thus there will be no more debate in the community," he concluded.
